I was born and raised in the heart of tobacco country – Durham, North Carolina, in the United States, and I currently reside here as well, soaking in the rich heritage of our tobacco tradition.
In the early years of my career, I was privileged to work with some of the most prestigious companies in the industry, including Phillip Morris International and British American Tobacco. My tenure at these giants of the trade helped me acquire in-depth knowledge about tobacco cultivation, production, and marketing. From there, I ventured into the realms of boutique cigar makers, where I spent years perfecting the art of blending unique flavors to create premium, handcrafted cigars.
Over the years, my work and dedication have earned me several prestigious awards such as the ‘Tobacco Industry Innovator Award’ and ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the Global Tobacco & Nicotine Forum. My passion for innovation in sustainable tobacco farming was recognized with the ‘Green Leaf Award’, a testament to my commitment towards developing eco-friendly tobacco cultivation methods.
Apart from my professional life, I’m an avid reader, a jazz enthusiast, and an amateur chef. I adore cooking for my family and friends during the weekends, often hosting barbecue parties in my backyard. I find great joy in blending the rich, robust flavors of tobacco in my barbecue sauce – it’s a crowd favorite! When not immersed in tobacco and books, you can catch me playing saxophone in local jazz bands, my way of unwinding after a hard day’s work.
